Touchmark collaborates with Alberta Health Services (AHS) in the operation of its Health Services Neighbourhood. Admissions to Touchmark are coordinated through the AHS.
Professional and Personal Care
Our caring team of professional nurses and rehabilitation therapists works closely with residents, family members, and medical staff to provide a personalized treatment program for people needing long-term care.
This team is supported by dedicated staff in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Dietary, Life Enrichment/Wellness, and other services. Together, they develop comprehensive plans for ongoing care. Touchmark uses the minimum data set (MDS), which tracks care plans, incorporating the best practices and improving results.
Superb Nursing Services, 24 hours a day
Committed to understanding and compassion, Touchmark carefully selects its progressive team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and health care aides. Caregivers are chosen only after thorough interviews, reference and background reviews, and skills verification to help ensure residents receive high-quality service. Once hired, they work closely with Touchmark’s Director of Care and other health care providers.
All staff receive training about Touchmark’s philosophy of care, which respects each person’s life history and preferences, encourages an overall sense of well-being, and provides a positive and unconditional regard for each individual.

Care Designed for the Individual
Touchmark’s care focuses on each resident’s needs and includes personal care, bathing assistance, prescribed exercises and help with mobility, companionship, lifts and transfers, medication, and comfort care. Family involvement is encouraged.

Many media stories have discussed the growing prevalence of Alzheimer’s disease. Some have recommended increasing the number of people who get a brain image in order to diagnose the disease earlier.
